About

"When we break the cycle of addiction we discover choice. With choice, we find hope. In hope we find freedom. I look forward to working with you on your journey of recovery."
Compassion, understanding and empowerment are at the heart of my work with people challenged by addiction. My own life experience led me to recovery and I understand these challenges personally. Through counselling, I gained a deeper understanding of my relationship with alcohol, substances, and behaviours, ultimately finding a pathway to recovery. I firmly believe in the possibility of living a life free from addiction, and this passion fuels my dedication to helping others facing similar struggles.

In my private practice as a Vancouver Addictions Counsellor I utilize a multi-modal approach to client care. Typically, this is a blend of Compassionate Inquiry, Trauma-informed Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Client-centered, I adjust my approach to meet the needs of the person where they are at and invite them to consider other possibilities. In discovering choice, we find hope, in hope we find freedom.

As a Canadian interventionist, this philosophy of empowerment is extended to the family and loved ones of the Person of Concern. Here, I also utilize a multi-modal approach as I believe a successful intervention is one that connects families, loved ones and the Person of Concern to the services and treatment scenarios that are right for them. This may include trauma-informed programming, holistic wellness programming, and 12-step as well as non-12 step treatment programs such as SMART recovery depending on the client. Different situations require different recovery strategies and it is my goal to connect individuals and families with the therapeutic approach and treatment modality that speaks to them.
